What even is hypnosis?

“Oh, I was miles away!”
“You were away with the fairies.”
“I was in my own little world!”

You may not realise it but being in hypnosis is a very normal human state. In fact, you spend around 80% of your life in hypnosis. Do those comments above seem familiar? We often use statements like this when we have been “off somewhere” and not focused on the task or conversation at hand! That’s hypnosis. And the times you are driving and suddenly recognise that you have no recollection of the last ten minutes? That’s hypnosis. It is a totally natural state of being. In a hypnotherapy session, you choose to go into that state deliberately and we use techniques in order to achieve a deep state of relaxation and access the subconscious mind.

The average human has between 50-80,000 thoughts a day. A staggering statistic and even more hard hitting is that for most people, around 80% of those are unhelpful, limiting or negative. What’s more, around 90% of the thoughts you have in any given day are the same as the thoughts you had the day before. These thoughts go directly into your subconscious blueprint and overtime become your beliefs. Hypnotherapy can help to counteract those thoughts and beliefs and replace them with more positive beliefs in order for you to live the life you wish to live as the person you wish to be.
